I have a big problem and need some advice.?

My father put his business in my name two years ago. He always told me that he was going to pay the taxes and he never did. He owes the IRS $1500, but, of course, since it is in my name, it shows that I owe the IRS $1500. I stopped talking to my dad because of this and I now need to figure out what I am going to do. Do I contact the IRS, do I consult a lawyer??? I don't know what to do and I definitely don't want to get in trouble for something I have absolutely no control over. I am a college student who couldn't afford to pay it off. He basically used me and now I am the one in trouble for it. Please help!!!!I have a big problem and need some advice.?
Consult an attorney ASAP, as well as the IRS to find out how to proceed. Unfortunately, your dad has not put you in a good position, as you already know. Talking w/ him to sort it out would help, but if that's a non-starter - talk w/ a lawyer AND the IRS.

The IRS will track you down for the unpaid taxes.I have a big problem and need some advice.?
What he did is illegal. Contact a lawyer.. though court fees and lawyer fees will most likely cost you more than $1,500.

OR: You could also contact the IRS and explain the situation. You are still responsible for the due amount since it's in your name but they will set up a payment plan for you.
If his business is good take it over and kick him out.

Never trust anyone when it comes to money.

A lawyer can do so much and it will cost you his fee.

If it were me, I would go into the IRS and have a talk with them.
you need to tell the truth now or else your in big trouble, one of you two need to pay back
You need to get a lawyer asap. Good luck.
